Big day for our Rivers

Today the River Wye has been formally recognised as a living ecosystem with intrinsic rights a UK first that could become a powerful new tool in the fight against pollution and ecological destruction.

Angela was interviewed today by The Guardian about what this means for our waterways, communities, wildlife and future generations.

For too long rivers have been treated as resources to exploit rather than living systems to protect. This recognition sends a clear message: our rivers matter, and they deserve respect, protection and a voice.

The fight is far from over but today feels like an important step forward for everyone working to defend the Wye, the Usk and rivers across the UK.
